Amûdê women take to streets for Felek

AMÛDÊ - Felek İsmail, who married on July 31, was killed on wedding night by her husband Alan Rustem. Women gathered in front of Felek's home and demanded to give the punishment Alan Rustem that he deserves.
A woman named Felek İsmail (35) married Alan Rustem (32) on July 31 in the Amûdê city of Cizîr Canton. Felek was killed on the wedding night by Alan Rustem. Amûdê women, who react to killing of Felek, gathered in front of Felek's home. Then, the women began to march towards the Women's House. Women made a statement after the march. Felek's mother, members of Kongra Star and many women were present at the statement.
Felek's mother Xezalê Yûnis made a speech during the statement. She said, "Today, we are together for our rights. I hurt so bad in my heart like every mother those who lost their children, my daughter was killed. I demand to give the punishment to Alan Rüstem that he deserves. That's why we came to the Women's House. We'll continue our struggle against male-dominated mentality that kills women. I lost my daughter, don't let other mothers lose. We can stop that by struggling."
After the speech of Xezalê, women shouted the slogan, "Jin Jiyan Azadî" (Women life freedom) and began to march towards Shengal Square. Women unfurled a banner reads, "We won't forget Felek".
