AMED - Ramazan Öğüt took his part in Sur resistance and he was killed, his mother Elif Öğüt said that they will continue the Sur resistance which tried to be forgotten. Elif said, "Perhaps our children become immortal and cannot do anything; however, we are here now. They left us by consigning this resistance to all Kurdish people. The struggle has continued for me and it will never end. I will never forget both Ramazan and his friends. I will follow him until die."
Clashes broke out following the declaration of "curfew" in Diyarbakır's Sur district have left its place to a historic resistance lasted 100 days. The curfew which declared on December 2, 2015 has been imposed despite the announcement of operation ended on March 9, 2016. No information about how many people were killed in Sur has been obtained yet; however, people say there are still dead bodies in the town. Some dead bodies weren't given to their families by state forces. One of this body belong to 17-year-old Ramazan Öğüt, who was killed on January 1 in the Sur resistance and his body wasn't given to his family for five months.
Ramazan's body was given to his family after hunger strike and vigil watch lasted five months. Ramazan's mother Elif Öğüt said, "We hadn't known that he would go to Sur. Then, I went to Sur with my daughter to find him. I saw him but I couldn't convince him to return home. He told me that other have mothers. But, he promised me that he would return. He called me on January 1 on his birthday and he told me, "I am fine, don't worry about me. As I promised you, you will see me even if bombs explode. I couldn't sleep until morning that day. I had dreams, in my dreams my son was blanketed. Then, I learned that he was shot to kill after he called me. He was buried with the coat I gave him."
Elif stated that they waited for five months to find at least her son bones; "Then, we began hunger strike and vigil watch for him. Our hunger strike and vigil watch lasted for five months. I waited for my son bones for five months. Then, we found his body. I was very happy to find my son dead body. Do any mothers become happy to bury their children? I did. Not only me but also many other mothers were there to find their children's bones.
"Everybody come out of their normal life after clashes ended in the Sur. They live as if nothing happened. They look like forget the days we slept under the sound of bombs. However, I, Rozerin's mother, Turgey's mother and Cihat's mother never let them forget this resistance until to end. They left us by consigning this resistance to all Kurdish people. The struggle has continued for me and it will never end. I will never forget both Ramazan and his friends. I will follow him until die."
