MANBIJ -As violent clashes have erupted between ISIS gangs and Manbij Military Council fighters within the scope of the operation to liberate Manbij, the women and girls, who escape from ISIS and arrive the safe areas by using corridors opened by council fighters, take off black burqas and then burn them.

Five thousands ruling male-dominant mindset, which shows itself with ISIS has first targeted women in each area they seize. One of these places is Manbij city, where mostly Arab people live. Women have to wear black burqas in Manbij under the control of ISIS and their living space has been limited. Violent clashes have broken out between ISIS and council fighters for more than two months within scope of the operation to liberate Manbij began on June 1 by Manbij Military Council.

Meanwhile, council fighters have opened a security corridor to save the people under the captivity of gangs. First you see the happiness on children's faces when the people come to safe areas and then women, who take off black burqas and throw them away. We have witnessed that some women burned the black burqas, too.

Women pray for the council fighters and ask to liberate their lands soon.
