ISTANBUL - Özgür Gündem Editorial Board member Aslı Erdoğan has been detained following the closure order against the daily.

Özgür Gündem daily has been closed down and 24 journalists were detained with charges of resisting arrest in the raid on the daily. Meanwhile, police organized house raids on former chief editor Eren Keskin, newspaper columnist Filiz Koçali and publisher of the daily Kemal Sancılı and newspaper columnist Ragıp Zarakolu yesterday. Last night, police raided on home of Özgür Gündem Editorial Board member Aslı Erdoğan. She was taken into custody following the raid.

The names of the journalists detained and which police stations they have been held are as follows;

Taksim Police Station: Elif Aydoğmuş, Sevdiye Ergürbüz, Güney Aksoy, Gülfem Karataş, Reyhan Hacıoğlu, Amine Demirkıran and Burcu Özkara

Karaköy Police Station: Doğan Güzel, Ersin Çaksu, Kemal Bozkurt, Zeki Erdem, Sinan Balık, Yılmaz Bozkurt, Davut Uçar, Mesut Kaynar, Fırat yeşilçinar and Hüseyin Gündüz

Kasımpaşa Police Station: Önder Elaldı, Ender Öndeş, Özgür Paksoy, Bayram Balcı, İMC TV cameraman Gökhan Çetin.

Vatan Police Station TEM Branch: Bilir Kaya and İnan Kızılkaya.
