DERSIM –An attack was carried out on Police Headquarters in the Nazimiye district of Dersim. As at least one soldier has been reported to be killed in the attack, “curfew” has been declared in the district center.

The HPG (People's Defence Forces) forces carried out an attack on Police Headquarters in the Nazimiye (Qisle) district of Dersim with bazooka and long barreled weapons early this morning. Local sources reported that they heard sound of many explosions and the clash continued almost one hour. The district residents state that there are casualties in the attack and there are also an ongoing helicopter and ambulance activities. As black smoke rise from District Police Headquarters, shootings have been sometimes heard.

According to initial report, at least one soldier died and five police officers, three of them seriously, have been wounded.

The Governorate has declared “curfew” in district center until further notice following the attack.
