Zeliha said she visited her grandson on Thursday: “I could go to see my grandson two weeks later he was exiled. I went to see him last Thursday. He had been held in Diyarbakır prison, and then we heard that he was exiled to another prison. My grandson was become thin; they were subjected to torture while they were taken to this prison. There was a titanium plate in his leg; however, they broke it by beating him. The prison officials give water to wards 15 minutes per day.

“They held them in solitary confinement for five days. They were subjected to physical torture. They don’t give food and water to the prisoners in order to break their strength. The impression doesn’t increase only against prisoners but also against their relatives.”

Zeliha stated that everybody should raise their voice against ongoing applications in prisons and said, “Everybody should raise their voice against ongoing applications. They organized a coup between themselves; however, the Kurds pay its price. Torture against prisoners has increased following the declaration of state of emergency. We don’t accept these applications; everyone should immediately raise their voice against what is going on.”
