HESEKÊ – As clashes have continued in Hesekê, several strategic points of the regime and its gangs have been seized.

According to Hawar News Agency (ANHA), the clashes that began on August 16 with provocative attacks of Ba'ath regime on Asayish checkpoints and civilians in Hesekê have continued. As clashes have continued until morning, the People's Defense Units (YPG) and Asayish members have seized several strategic points of the regime and its gangs. The clashes have continued around post office in Mesakin Neighborhood and in Lêliyê and Xiwêran neighborhoods and around Kewbeb Mountain since last night.

The biggest prison in Cizre Canton located in Xiwêran Neighborhood, city stadium and arts and culture center have been cleared of regime forces in the clashes.

Meanwhile, Kewbeb Mountain located 10 kilometres east of Hesekê has been surrounded by the YPG-YPJ, Asayish and HPC forces. 230 regime soldiers and gangs’ members have surrendered to the YPG forces.
