HESEKÊ –Female prisoners, who were held and subjected to torture in Center Prison of Hesekê by Ba'ath Regime, have been rescued by the YPJ. One of women, Zehra Mihemed Hemo stated that she would join the YPJ by noting the freedom can be brought by the YPJ.

The YPG/YJ, Asayish and HPC forces have liberated the center prison and many governmental institutions into scope of the clearing operation launched in the Xiwêran Neighborhood last night. Prisoners in the prison where is known as the place of torture and atrocity, have been rescued. Three female prisoners named Rohat Mihemed Emîn, Zehra Mihemed Hemo and Şeymai Ibrehîm Mihêsin emphasized they had been subjected to torture while they had been held in prison and they were very happy to be free.

Rohat said that she had been held in the prison for 10 years and she never thought she would be free again. She stated she was very happy to be rescued by the YPJ and became free.

Zehra Mihemed Hemo noted that she had been held in prison for about 14 years for her brother who had killed her cousin. Zehra said she hadn’t been subjected to so much torture because her family had given money to the prison guards. Zehra pointed out that she had been forced to accept the crime of her brother by being tortured.

Zehra said : “I am very happy. I didn’t have any hope to be free again. I thought I would never see my mother and siblings again. I will join the YPJ because the freedom comes with them.”

Arap Şeymai Ibrehîm Mihêsin had been arrested in alleged plot to murder her husband; however, she said her husband was killed by regime forces. They were attacked by a group while she and her husband walked in the street: “A group came and killed my husband; I was wounded in the attack. My uncle accused me to kill my husband. They tortured me for nine days. My uncle had given money to those who tortured me. First, they demanded death sentence for me but then I was sentenced nine years in prison. I am very happy to be free again.”
