One of the members of Kongreya Star Coordination of Efrîn Canton Şerîn Hesen made evaluations about violence against women. Şerîn emphasized that the violence was the culture of the dominants and she pointed out that the violence of the dominants has continued its existence on women: “People should see the violence and attacks against women as normal. 10 women have been killed in Efrin Canton. Femicide is a self-criticism for us because we should have organized all women. We couldn’t due to ongoing period.”

Şerîn said the natural society proceeded led by women and dominant system declined that, “Women are building the life and love so they have always become a true social structure for life. Women are the teachers and readers of life. They teach everything with their labor and creativity not with the violence of the dominants. The system has given the integrity to life in parallel with its own interests. The presence of women has been tried to be annihilated both ideologically and spiritually. Women’s freedom and life is integrity.”

Şerîn stated that the capitalist system also put the patriarchal system into effect in Rojava; however, this system was destroyed with the Rojava Revolution, “Women have taken part in the revolution by breaking the wall of patriarchal system in Rojava. The resistance and organization of women mean a conscious society and that becomes a model for the whole world. However, there are still femicide and we should criticize ourselves about that. We have begun to carry out works about violence against women in all villages and districts. We’ll meet with women and men in villages and districts. Femicide is not women’s issue, it is a social problem. This disease will disappear with training, meetings and seminars.”
