Dilek Öcalan: We’ll continue to the end

AMED – Niece of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the HDP Urfa MP Dilek Öcalan, who has joined the indefinite - irreversible hunger strike, indicates they will continue the resistance to the end.
The indefinite and irreversible hunger strike that launched for demanding immediate communication with the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, has continued in the third day. 50 politicians, artists and journalists have been joining the hunger strike, among them niece of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the HDP (The Peoples’ Democratic Party) Urfa MP Dilek Öcalan and the HDP Şırnak MP Ferhat Encu.
Dilek Öcalan express that the Kurdish people have gravely concerned about the situation of Abdullah Öcalan following the attempted coup on July 15 by emphasizing the only purpose of the hunger strike is to have news from Abdullah Öcalan against unlawfulness imposed in Imralı Island. Dilek says, “Our people are standing up for our action and their support raises our morale. For example, Amed people have begun noise demo at 9 p.m. every evening in order to support our hunger strike. The demo is quite meaningful and a symbol how they are insistent for solution.”
Dilek shows Imralı for peace and solution and says, “The Kurdish people call for peace and solution many times; however, these calls have been refused by one person’s opinion and thoughts. We should underline that if people want something, they will get. We’ll continue this resistance to the end.”
The HDP Şırnak MP Ferhat Encu, meanwhile, state that the state stalls them and they will continue the hunger strike until a political delegation goes to see Abdullah Öcalan. Ferhat says, “We will continue this action until our action achieves its main goal.”
