Kurdish headmen dismissed, risk of lynch continues in Sinop

SİNOP –On September 11, a racist group attacked Kurdish workers and shopkeepers in the Gökırmak Neighborhood of Sinop’s Durağan district. Yesterday the racist group wanted to walk to Kurdish villages after they attended a funeral ceremony by shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’. The risk of lynch still continues in the villages where the headmen have been dismissed.
A racist group attacked attacked the Kurdish workers and shopkeepers in the Gökırmak Neighborhood of Sinop’s Durağan district by using sticks and guns on September 11. Police and soldiers were sent to the neighborhood and Durağan Governorate declared curfew. The curfew was lifted before the feast of sacrifice. AtakanNews shared video of the attack. In the video, the racist groups shouted slogans such as, “These lands are ours”, “Allahu Akbar” and “How happy is who says I am s Turk”. As 15 people have been injured by shootings, many shops and cars have been destroyed. After the attacks, the headmen of Kurdish Olukbaşı , Yeniköy and Çayağzı villages were dismissed for being responsible of the attacks.
