AMED – Head of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Women's Policy Department Yüksel Aslan Acer, who was detained during the raid on her home, has been held under detention since September 6.

The ruling power, which has interrupted the policies of women by appointing trustees to the municipalities governed by Democratic Regions Party (DBP), has begun to target Women's Policy Departments in local authorities.

The first Women’s Policy Department was put into practice two years ago in Turkey by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. Police raided the home of Head of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Women's Policy Department Yüksel Aslan Acer on September 6 and detained her. As the ground of detention has remained unknown due to “confidentiality order”, Yüksel has been held under detention for nine days.

15 people, including eight women, who were detained with Yüksel, haven’t been allowed to see their laywers yet.
