Co-mayor of Qandil: Trustees will not break the people’s will

QANDIL – Qandil Municipality co-mayor Emine Hemed Mihemed reacted to the trustee appointments to municipalities governed by the DBP and said the trustees would never break the Kurdish people’s will. Emine called upon all international organizations and institutions, particularly the Kurdish people, to take the action against ongoing atrocity.
Emine Hemed Mihemed, co-mayor of Qandil Municipality in Federal Kurdistan Region, condemn the trustee appointments to municipalities governed by the DBP (Democratic Regions Party). Co-mayor Emine Hemed Mihemed stated that many plans had been carried out in order to separate the Kurds for years, “The Kurds got most of votes in the election and won. Erdoğan couldn’t tolerate this situation. We, as Qandil Municipality, condemn the trustees appointed by Turkish government in Kurdistan. We support the municipalities elected by the people’s will.”
Emine said all Kurdish people should rise against trustees by indicating, “The seizure of municipalities by Turkish government is unacceptable. The Kurdish people should show that they don’t accept the trustee appointments.” Emine called upon all international organizations and institutions by saying; “all international organizations and institutions shouldn’t keep silent against atrocity imposed on the Kurds and Kurdistan. They should take an action against this ongoing massacres and atrocity immediately.”
Emine expressed that the Kurdish people elected their mayors with their free will and she continued her words as follows: “Turkish government is seizing the municipalities by forcing violence, torture and atrocity. This violence, torture and massacre cannot be accepted. We, as Qandil Municipality, do not accept this situation. The plans of the Turkish government will fail. The Kurds have an honorable struggle and they can never break the Kurdish people’s will.”
Co-mayor Mamoste (teacher) Mihemmed Kandineş also condemned the trustee appointments to the municipalities held by the DBP. Mihemmed expressed achievements of the Kurdish people had been tried to be seized by appointing trustees: “Municipalities are public services; however, they are wanted to take under control by using soldiers and trustees. We, as Qandil Municipality, condemn this anti-democratic approach. Turkey is targeting the peoples, particularly the Kurdish people with mindset of one state, one language and one nation. The peoples’ will and voice will win. International democratic forces should show an approach against the anti-democratic practices imposed upon the Kurdish people by the Turkish government.”
