Urgent call for action to UN for Rozelin Kalkan

ANKARA – Association Against Impunity puts out an urgent call for action to the UN in order to end the torture and isolation against Rozerin Kalkan. Rozerin, who has been held in Niğde E Type Closed Prison, sent a letter to JINHA and she said in her letter she was subjected to systematic harassment and psychological torture and she didn’t have security of life.

Association Against Impunity (Cezasızlıkla Mücadele Birliği) put out an urgent call for action to the United Nations (UN) for Rozerin Kalkan, who was detained at her home on August 11 and subjected to sexual torture in Anti-Terror Branch for nine days. In the call, the association emphasized that holding Rozerin in a solitary confinement and imposing isolation upon a person for days without meeting the most basic human needs are against the decision taken by the European Court of Human Rights and the torture cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

Association Against Impunity, the human rights organization bases in the UK and lawyer Metin Gün put out an urgent call for action to the UN Special Rapporteur on torture and Human Rights Council and demanded the improvement of detention conditions of 19-year-old Rozerin Kalkan, who has been held in isolation in Niğde E Type Closed Prison, and transferring her to another prison in order ro lift the isolation imposed upon her.
Rozerin sent a letter to JINHA and she said in her letter she was subjected to systematic harassment and psychological torture and she didn’t have security of life.
