Police cut the broadcast of the İMC TV

ISTANBUL – Police has raided the office of İMC TV and cut its transmission. The staff members of the İMC TV, shouted the slogan, “Free press cannot be silenced”, on-air before the channel taken off air.

One of 12 channels and 11 radio stations, which were shut down in accordance with Statutory Decree, the İMC TV office located in Eyüp/ Istanbul has been raided by police. The police wanted to cut the broadcast of the channel, the discussion between police and the General Publications Coordinator of the İMC TV, Eyüp Burç, who was on-air guest of the channel that time, were watched on the TV.

Eyüp Burç told the police, “Why do you close your faces? The fraternity will win and the cruel will go to hell. We are against those who stage a coup in another coup.”

The channel’s staff members, who had gathered inside the TV studio, shouted the slogans such as, “Free press cannot be silenced” and “Don’t stay silence, free press is a right”. The staff members expressed their reaction on-air by saying, “We reported the truths in Turkey and they are really scared of these truths. We are people who want peace. We are honored to be here as journalists. The truths can never be blackened. The truths become known sooner or later.

The police cut the broadcast of the İMC TV and its internet broadcast.
