COLEMERG – Armored vehicle opened fire on civilians in Yüksekova city center and killed four civilians.

An armored vehicle opened fire on civilians in the city center of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district in the morning. The citizens named Aydın Tümen, Serhat Buldan, Rahmi Sefalı and Nejdet İşyözü were killed and Ayşehan Doğan, Şemsettin Çakmakçı and Memet Ali Kaya were wounded. Killed citizens were taken to morgue of state hospital and wounded people are being treated in the same hospital.

‘Police HQ: the armored vehicle broke down

As the HDP and DBP administrators confirmed the incident, they reported that the District Police HQ told them: “The weapon of our armored vehicle broke down”.

Meanwhile, police have blockaded the most of city center and haven’t allowed anyone to go there. Police have also blockaded the State Hospital and detained some citizens, who tried to take photographs.
