SHENGAL – Shengal Women’s Assembly member Şêrîn Salih stated that Ezîdî people formed their self-defenses and their assembly with the perspective of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. “The Leadership protected us and everyone on Shengal Mountains will fight for him.”

Shengal Women’s Assembly member Şêrîn Salih issued assessments as to 18th anniversary of “international conspiracy on October 9” when the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan drew away from Syria on October 9, 1998 in order to be brought to Turkey with pressure of international forces.

Şêrîn stated that Greece, Russia and Italy took their place in the conspiracy. She said that international forces were afraid of thoughts of Abdullah Öcalan for the peoples in the Middle East. Şêrîn said, “Leadership stood by the oppressed and exploited people. He sought justice and law. The politics of leadership were right and fair politics. International repressive forces were afraid of these ideas and perspectives. Barzani and Celal are also Kurds, why weren’t they arrested? There isn’t any pressure towards them because they are also occupiers. They have never served the people; their aim is to derive personal benefits.”

Şêrîn stated that Abdullah Öcalan has continued his struggle under isolation in Imrali Prison and he assesses the development in the world better than anyone. She said, “He was aware of the danger on Ezîdî people and he called for defense. He said, “Ezîdî people should be protected, they would face a big massace, save Ezîdî people”. Leadership stood by us and we will advocate for his rights. Our women and children were captured by ISIS when we faced the edict. The Leadership said, “I felt like I experienced the pain of Ezîdî women faced”, the conspirator states should release our leader how they captured him with dirty politics and agents. I appeal to everyone on Shengal Mountains; Rise and protect the rights of Leadership. Fight for the freedom of the Leadership.”
