State of emergency extended for three months

ANKARA – The Turkish Parliament has decided, with the votes of members of the AKP and MHP, to extend the state of emergency in the country for three more months.

The PM’s resolution calling for the extension state of emergency declared by the ruling government after the attempted coup has been accepted. Despite the HDP and CHP voting against, the state of emergency was extended with the votes of the AKP and MHP.

The state of emergency will be extended three months starting October 19, a Wednesday, at 1:00 a.m.
