NGOs and children’s organizations drew attention to the fact of the world and Turkey and announced that they regarded the day as struggle day not celebration day.

As one out of every 10 girl children being subjected to sexual assault in the world, 11 percent of girl children in Turkey are subjected to sexual assault. 250 million of 700 million women, who were married before 18 years old, were married before the age of 15 in the world. 24 percent of married women in Turkey in 2013 were between 16 and 19 years old.

Child abuse is legitimated under the name of “marriage” with gender roles. Being forced to marry, girl child becomes a mother while they had to play games. Many girl children lost their lives during the pregnancy or giving a birth due to their ages.
