AMED – The HDP Diyabakır MP Feleknas Uca stated that an ethnic offensive launched against the Kurds and said, “The state seizes the people’s will under the name of the state of Emergency in order to prevent them to organize. They block the way of politics and pave the way for violence. No one should keep silent against this situation.”

In recent months, 2,500 people have been arrested within the scope of political genocide operations and 137 people have been taken into custody in two days. The HDP Diyarbakır MP Feleknas Uca evaluated the operations against the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) and DBP (Democratic Regions Party) and the detention of co-chairs and administrators. She stated that the main purpose of the AKP government is to seize the will of Kurdish people and eliminate the political areas.

Feleknas expressed that there is an offensive against the Kurdish people for years and particularly in the last one year, the AKP government has carried out massacres by demolishing the cities of Kurdistan and has arrested their politicians. Feleknas underlined that the only purpose of the government is to carry the system of “one man and presidency” into effect. She noted that Turkey is wished to be dragged into the darkness by eliminating the politics done by the Kurds. Feleknas said, “They want to keep the Kurdish people out of politics and bring them to their line. The AKP government doesn’t understand that the Kurds will never follow them. The Kurdish people paid cost in order to come today and no one can divest them of their acquirements.”

Feleknas stated that the ruling party coverts the acquirements of the Kurdish people but the Kurds never give up resisting despite their villages burned, being arrested and massacres. Feleknas said the state tries to intimidate the Kurdish people with oppression and detention operations and continued: “The Peoples’ party doesn’t leave its municipality alone.” Feleknas noted that an ethnic offensive launched against the Kurds; “Arresting of teachers, journalists, co-chairs and co-mayors of the DBP-HDP is a reflection of this offensive.”

Feleknas emphasized that the only way to enlighten Turkey is going to through the unity of Alevis, Kurds, and all the oppressed and marginalized people. She also emphasized that the President and Prime Minister will be seen as responsible from a possible attack on the HDP and DBP, because they pointed them as a target with their discourses. Feleknas stated that the way for violence is paved where the politics is blocked and the politics in Turkey is in the chaos.

Feleknas called upon people to join their sit down protest at 5 p.m. by saying, “The dimension of the attacks will be changed if we continue to sit at homes. This will provide basis for arresting representative. The state seizes the people’s will under the name of the state of Emergency in order to prevent them to organize. No one should keep silent against this situation.”
