Demand prison sentence for the photos of Sakine and Gurbetelli!

AMED – A lawsuit that demands imprisonment up to five years was filed against Emine Özkeskin, staff member of Aram Publishing, for hanging the photographs of Sakine Cansız and Gurbetelli Ersöz to promote their books in book fair. The first hearing will be held tomorrow.
Second Amed Book Fair was organized in Sümerpark with the participation of 72 publishing houses between May 17 and 22 by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. Aram Publishing House hanged the photographs of Sakine Cansız, who was murdered in Paris, and Gurbetelli Ersöz, Turkey's first woman chief editor, to promote their books in the book fair. Police officers seized the photographs in the book fair.
Public Prosecutor of Diyarbakır filed a lawsuit against Emine Özkeskin for allegedly “making propaganda of an [illegal] organization” for hanging the photographs. The first hearing will be held Diyarbakır 4th High Criminal Court tomorrow.
The prosecutor demands imprisonment up to five years against Emine.
