NEWS CENTER- at least 17 people were taken into custody in the raids conducted in Istanbul, Şırnak and Bingöl. According to reports, police raided the tents and threatened the citizens saying, “We will burn you with tents”.
Last night, at least nine people were taken into custody in the raids conducted in many disricts of Istanbul. Special forces and riot police conducted the raids with support of helicopters and detained people were taken to Istanbul Police Headquarters. The names of detained people are as follows: Ahmet Kaya, Nafiye Kaya, Gönül Doğan, Enes Çevik, Cihan Temizbaş, Mithat Sönmez, Arif Polat Canlı, Murat Yavuz and Tekin Ant.
Meanwhile, a detained woman named Jiyan Polat had been released after being questioned in the police station, was taken into custody again last night.
6 people detained in Şırnak
As the curfew continues to be imposed in Şırnak, police raided the tents in Afet housings in the early hours of the morning. Six people were taken into custody in the raids. Detained people Selim Sipki, Hüseyin Özcan, Osman Bilen, Mehmet Sipki, Ahmet Utanç and Şeref Üstek were taken to Şırnak Police Headquarters. According to reports, the police threatened the citizens, who live in the tents saying, “We will burn you with tents”.
House raids in Bingöl
Police conducted house raids in Bingöl city center in the morning. The DBP (Democratic Regions Party) former co-chair Mervan Temiz and a citizen named Abdullah Kaya were taken into custody in the raids. Detained people were taken to the Anti-Terror Team (TEM) Branch.
