KIRKÛK –Clashes in Kirkuk city center have been reported to continue broke out following the attacks of Daesh gangs in the morning. One of the YJA Star commanders, Niwêla Sîverek said, “Our forces reached Kirkuk.”

The clashes broke out following Daesh gangs’s attacks on many points of Kirkuk city center have continued. Daesh gangs carried out simultaneous attacks on the Police Headquarters, Governorate and Domiz Asayish buildings. The first ISIS attack took place when suicide bombers blew themselves up, and intense clashes have been broken out between the gangs and Kirkuk Asayish forces. As the control of the old police headquarters and governorate buildings area has been taken, intense clashes in the Tisîn û Huzeyran neighborhood and around an old hotel and a mosque have continued.

Asayish forces ask for support from the HPG/YJA Star forces. The guerillas have been reported to reach the area.

Meanwhile, One of the YJA Star commanders, Niwêla Sîverek made a statement and said, “The guerrillas unites have taken part in defense. Our forces reached the city center and they are in the position for fighting against all kinds of attacks. Daesh gangs group turned to other cities when they understood they would be defeated in Mosul. The attack on Kırkuk shows that. As guerillas, we are ready to defend our cities against these attacks.”
