AMED – The Hasırlı and Savaş neighborhoods of Sur have been completely demolished.

The curfew, which was declared in the Sur district of Diyarbakır on December 2, 2015, has continued to be imposed in Savaş, Cemal Yılmaz, Hasırlı and Fatihpaşa neighborhoods. The town was besieged by declaring long-term curfews following the announcement and declaration of self-government by the people in the town. The resistance in the besieged town continued for 103 days. On March, an announcement was made and said, “The operations were ended in the town”; however, the curfew hasn’t been lifted despite the announcement. As diggers have continued to bring down the homes in four neighborhoods, Savaş and Hasırlı neighborhoods have been completely demolished.
