SHENGAL - Êzidî women, who held their second conference on September and decided to organize under the name of TAJÊ, will unite their forces with YJŞ (Shengal Women Unite). The YJŞ Commander Dersim Şingal and the TAJÊ member Ferîda Seido announced their goal as organizing more, expanding the council, growing in military area and making free all Êzidî women.
Following the attacks of Daesh on Shengal on August 3, 2013, Êzidî women began to organize themselves both militarily and politically. After the attacks, Êzidî women have begun to form their council and join to self-defense forces. The women, who held their second conference on September 25, on Shengal Mountains, decided to organize under the name of the Êzidî Free Women’s Movement (Tavgera Azadiya Jinen Êzidxan -TAJÊ). The TAJÊ Êzidî women will conduct joint works with YJŞ. The YJŞ Commander Dersim Şingal told JINHA the joint works with the TAJÊ.
Dersim said, “As Êzidî women, if we had organized and had our defense, the dimension of the attacks wouldn’t have been so heavy. We organized ourselves immediately after the last edict. With the passing of time, we have organized ourselves in the other areas. How much we make a great effort for our people is not enough, because still there are many women in the hand of Daesh and still Shengal isn’t free. For this reason, we regard us as inadequate and this raises our determination.”
Dersim expressed that they found the Êzidî women’s self-defense unite the YJŞ in 2014 and saying, “We have do our best from that day to this. As Shengal women’s forces, we take our place in operations by taking a great and historic step. We, as the YJŞ, protect Shengal by taking Midîbamê line. For us, the YJŞ and TAJÊ are same. Our connection with each other is quite strong and our purpose is to conduct joint works for Shengal. In the second conference, the TAJÊ said, “We recognize the YJŞ as our own military forces and we call ourselves as the political will of the YŞJ.” In this sense, we recognize the TAJÊ as our political will.”
Ferîda Seido of the TAJÊ made evaluations on the subject and said, “As Êzidî women, we made the decisions about ourselves for the first time in our history and we started works in all fields. We recognize the YJŞ as our own military forces and we call ourselves as the political will of the YŞJ. The YJŞ fighters are protecting our lands and we organize the women in the community. Our goal is to create a free society with the perspective of women. Our connection with the Kongraya Star (Confederation of women's movements is quite good and warm. The TAJÊ and YJŞ are not different. We complete each other. We are strong together. We are getting stronger day by day. We should organize in each field in order to prevent the edicts. We will expand our council and grow in military area and make free all Êzidî women and live on free lands.”
