No word from Zeinab Sekaanvand

NEWS CENTER – Zeinab Sekaanvand, issued the death penalty by the Iranian regime for killing her abusive husband, has been out of contact for the last 15 days. Zeinab’s family and lawyers have been unable to receive any information on whether she has been executed.
Zeinab Sekaanvand, 22, was born in the city of Urmia in Eastern Kurdistan. After Zeinab’s husband violently abused her, she killed him in self-defense. In the trial against Zeinab, the Iranian regime condemned her to death.
Amnesty International started a campaign for Zeinab, who was scheduled to be executed on October 13, and was being held in Evin Prison in Tehran. The group said in its statement that Zeinab had been tortured and prevented from meeting with her lawyers.
For 15 days, there has been no word from Zeinab, who was prevented from meeting with her family or her lawyers.
