ISTANBUL – JINHA News Spot Vigil continues in the building of the HDP Istanbul Provincial Organization. Women visiting for the purpose of solidarity state that they will continue to be in solidarity with JINHA.
 
Women have launched a solidarity campaign named JINHA News Spot Vigil with JINHA Women’s News, shut down by Statutory Decree (KHK). Today, the vigil continues the building of the HDP Istanbul Provincial Organization. Women attract a great deal of attention to the vigil. Members of Istanbul Peace Mothers, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul Women's Assembly Coordination, the HDP Sultanbeyli District Organization, and the HDP Kağıthane District Organization visited the vigil. Women, who visited the vigil said:
 
‘We become conscious with JINHA’

Hasibe Yazdık: “JINHA is the voice of women and we strongly condemn the closure decision. JINHA’s place for women is different. The system’s pressure will never succeed. We will resist in every field and everywhere and we will continue our struggle. When we look at the wars in history, we see the first target of the wars is women. In particular, they are attacking conscious women and trying to generate pressure on women. They targeted JINHA because we, as women, became conscious with JINHA.”
 
‘We stand by JINHA’
 
Güler Buğday: “Today male-dominated mindset is interfering in women’s will. They have laid their card on the table by closing down JINHA. The oppression on women continues and we strongly condemn the ongoing state violence. We always stand by JINHA. A dirty war has been carried out in every part of the world and the most women are affected by this war. Women are now rising and conducting their struggle. Women have been resisting for century and this resistance has come to lighter with the last 30 years of Kurdish women's struggle. The women paid a lot and continue to pay. Our resistance will continue and we will surely win.”
 
‘We will overcome attacks’
 
Nurşen Akbal: “Opponent channels, newspapers and news agencies have been shut down by KHK decision. Peoples’ right to demand news are being tried to be prevented. Many HDP MPs, including our General Co-chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş and the DBP (Democratic Regions Party) General Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel have been imprisoned. Women are particularly targeted.  They want to annihilate conscious and powerful women. They are trying to hide the facts by attacking the press. Yesterday, a sexual abuse case occurred in Adıyaman and mainstream media is hiding this. Actually everyone knows the things are getting worse. We, as women, will overcome all of these and we will success.”
 
‘Free press will not bow down against pressures’
 
Xunav Altun: “We will fight and be in the fields all together and strengthen the solidarity. Women’s gains have become more revealed with Kobanê’s process. The system is intensifying its attacks in order to annihilate women’s resistance and gains in Nusaybin, Yükselova, Sur, Van and Cizre. They have turned towards women. The system aimed to reduce women’s struggle by silencing JINHA. The free press never bows down against oppression and they won’t. As women of the HDP, we will continue to do our part.”
 
‘We will continue to be solidarity with JINHA’
 
Muazzez Töre: “We feel the AKP fascism. As women, our resistance has continued since 1800s and we haven’t taken a step back. First they closed women’s centers by appointing trustees to municipalities. We will win and create new gains. JINHA was solidarity with us and we will continue to be solidarity with JINHA.”
