SAMSUN – 12 women, who were detained while protesting the draft bill which legitimates rape and sexual abuse by being battered, have been released after the procedures were completed in the police station.

Women organizations tried to protest the AKP’s draft bill which legitimates rape and sexual abuse; however police attacked them and detained 12 women by battering. 11 women, including SKM member Züleyha Mangan were detained by being dragged to the ground by their hair.

Detained women Züleyha Mangan, Fatma Şen Çelik, Bahar Karakuş, Meral Aslan, Şafak Yeşiltepe, Derya Ceylan, Deniz Yıldırım, Şeyma Özbek, Sevim Topaloğlu, Akile Yıldırım, Bahar Naz Karanlık and Güner Karaduman have been released after the procedures were completed in the police station.
